WTF Austin TX is a grassroots community of everyday people volunteering our time to create a better world for animals...but we need your help. 💪✊ This is an incredibly exciting moment for our team.

We first began building momentum in 2025. Though the loss of two of our three organisers to new job opportunities, meant our progress came to an unexpected halt. 

Now, in 2026, we're back!! With a passionate new team, renewed energy, and a clear vision for the future. We've already hosted community events to reconnect with local advocates and let Austin know that We The Free is back. Our goal is to build a strong, supportive community of people who are ready to stand up for animals together.

Our Work

Our primary outreach project is the 3 Minute Movie Challenge (3MMC) in the heart of Austin.

We invite members of the public to enjoy a free plant-based snack in exchange for watching a powerful three-minute video about our relationship with animals. Afterwards, our outreach volunteers have thoughtful, respectful conversations that encourage people to reflect on their values and consider making more compassionate choices.

These conversations change minds and inspire real action.

Our goal is to host a 3 Minute Movie Challenge at least once every month, with plans to expand as more organisers become confident leading events independently. Alongside our outreach, we also aim to host monthly community gatherings, giving local activists and supporters opportunities to connect, build friendships, develop skills, and avoid burnout.

This year alone, we expect to have thousands of meaningful conversations with members of the public, but making that happen requires funding.
