WTF Organizer

As a WTF Organizer, you'll play a crucial role in your local team’s success by organizing inspirational and effective activism events. You will grow the animal advocacy movement by hosting empowering community gatherings and by uplifting advocates in your team. You will work with the WTF Global Support team to strategize and grow your team’s effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Leading Events:

  • Provide briefings and debriefings

  • Ensure health & safety of volunteers

  • Support volunteers and assign roles

Team Administration:

  • Schedule & promote events

  • Moderate volunteer group pages

  • Effectively utilize MyStats to measure team impact

  • Promote learning and development

Community:

  • Support, grow, & inspire the activist community

  • Embody We The Free's values and inspire others to do the same

  • Cascade updates & announcements from the WTF Support Team to volunteers

  • Assist the Community Health Team to address conflicts or safety issues

As an organization that aims to mobilize a broad volunteer base, we recognize the importance of both diversity of identity and diversity of thought. You must be willing to volunteer alongside and support a diverse volunteer base with vastly different beliefs.

 

Required Experience?

Of course, prior leadership experience will be useful as an organizer, but it is not essential. One of WTF’s tenets is actually to inspire and support new leaders.

You will receive a detailed induction and organizer training, you will have access to the WTF Support team to provide ongoing guidance and support, and you may be paired with an experienced WTF organizer through the WTF new organizer “buddy scheme”.
