Every year, We The Free activists from across the UK come together for one powerful day of action for animals: Solidarity Day.

On August 1st, we will host our 5th annual Solidarity Day in Birmingham city centre, a huge 6-hour long Movie Challenge bringing together activists, outreachers, and members of the public from all over the country. It is our biggest day of impact for the animals and a chance to create a strong public presence for veganism, and animal liberation.

Solidarity Day is more than just an event. It is a day of unity. A day where people from different cities, backgrounds, and experiences stand together for the same purpose: helping others see animals differently and inspiring them to change!

Last year was our biggest and most ambitious event yet.

We showcased our Movie Challenge on a huge 28ft truck screen in the heart of Birmingham, with audio streamed through wireless silent disco headphones. Hundreds of people stopped to watch the footage, engage with activists, and have meaningful conversations about animals and veganism.

This year, we want to bring the truck back and make Solidarity Day 2026 even bigger and more impactful than before.

However, due to a tighter budget this year, we need your help to make that happen.

We are aiming to raise £2,000 to secure the truck and Birmingham city centre event space and every pound donated will be DOUBLED.

That means if we reach our target, it instantly becomes £4,000 towards creating one of the most impactful public outreach events for animals in the UK.

As well as donating directly, we are also encouraging supporters to organise local fundraising events to help us reach the target. Whether it’s a bake sale, sponsored walk, pub quiz, raffle, gig, or community event, every contribution helps make Solidarity Day possible.

Anyone who organises a fundraising event will receive a FREE item of We The Free merch as a thank you for supporting the animals and helping bring this event to life.
