🥳 Social Event: Build Connections & Community

On Thursday the 17th of September, Ark Redwood will be hosting a cinema night at the Avalon community centre in Glastonbury. After the film, there will be a discussion about it and how it made you feel, what we can do as a collective to create positive change and a Q&A if anyone has any questions.

There will be refreshments; teas, coffee, cold drinks and snacks. If anyone would like to bring anything please ensure it's cruelty free, no meat or dairy, honey etc.

These socials are designed to help bring people of like minds together and meet new people who are on the same path.

Social events are essential for growing our movement, connecting with fellow activists, and ensuring that advocacy remains sustainable and enjoyable. Whether you're new to the group or a long-time member, come meet new people, share ideas, and recharge in a friendly, supportive environment.

This month the film will be "The last pig",

The Last Pig is a 2017 documentary film directed by six-time Emmy winner Allison Argo that chronicles the ethical crisis of a small scale livestock farmer.

The film follows Bob Comis, a farmer in Upstate New York who, after a decade of providing what was considered a humane and idyllic life for his pigs, develops a deep connection to them and finds himself unable to endure the weekly trips to the slaughterhouse. It serves as a lyrical, immersive meditation on sentience, animal agriculture, and the value of compassion.
