This week, I had the privilege of being the first person in the world to have online vegan outreach video calls with people who had just watched the 3-minute movie challenge.
I spoke to Connor – a 17-year-old from the US – whose voice was trembling as he tried to process what he had just seen. He told me how the film brought him to tears and left him questioning: “How can this be allowed to happen?”
At first, he felt utterly hopeless. Then a single question changed the entire dynamic of our chat. I asked him, “Can one person make a difference?” Connor paused and said, “Yes they can, if many individuals unite and work together.”
We talked about what would be hard if he became vegan today. As a young person living with his parents, he doesn’t usually choose what’s for dinner. I asked if he could sit his parents down, explain calmly how important this is to him, and ask for their support in eating plant-based meals. He said, with certainty, that they would say yes. Connor pledged to go vegan, to ask his parents to watch the movie themselves, and to suggest they try a vegan mentorship together as a family.
Connor was so grateful for the work that we do, and I was so grateful to be there for him at that moment. And none of this would be possible without people like you.

Because of your support, 2025 has been a year of incredible progress for We The Free:

The 3-minute movie challenge was viewed more than 12 million times in 14 languages – over 60 years of viewtime, making it likely some of the most-viewed graphic animal rights footage in history.

Our social media team used dozens of accounts to share viral animal rights content viewed more than 80 million times every month.

In bustling city centres, on beaches, and outside village halls, more than 200 street outreach teams held around 1,300 events and had over 30,000 in-person conversations to advocate for a kinder world for animals.

Our passionate team delivered vital training to 4,500 volunteers, completely free of charge.

With your help, 2026 can be even bigger
Next year, with your continued support, we’re planning to:

Launch more outreach teams and host more outreach events than ever before.

Enable our social media team to reach over 1.2 billion views with powerful animal rights content.

Professionally narrate the movie challenge into even more languages, reaching new audiences around the world.

Facilitate tens of thousands of online outreach conversations with people just like Connor on MyStats.wtf using our newly developed MyChats feature.
But to do this, we urgently need to close a funding gap. Right now, that shortfall is directly limiting what we can do for animals.
Without closing this gap:

We won’t be able to hire contractors to create the viral content that’s driving the success of 3minutes.wtf.

We won’t have as much funding available to purchase essential equipment or vegan food prizes for street outreach teams.

We won’t be able to afford development costs to continue the roll-out and maintenance of the MyChats feature.

When I helped launch We The Free, I knew that we were going to make a difference for animals. But nothing could prepare me for the feeling of experiencing thousands of people contributing to this collective vision by donating their time and their money.
